Nouns are words that describe a person, thing, animal, quality, feeling and condition. Examples - Person - . राम Ram, . श्याम Shyam, Things - वस्तु [vastu] - . कुर्सी kursee [chair], .पंखा pankha [fan], Animal जानवर jaanavar - . गाय gaay [Cow] . कुत्ता kutta [dog], गुण gun [quality] - . साहसिक saahsik [Courageous] . हार्दिक Hardik [Wholehearted] भाव bhav [condition] . बचपन Bachpan [childhood] .मिठास mithas [ sweetness ] Types of noun - There are mainly three types of nouns - Those noun words which refer to the same person, thing or place are called proper nouns. Example - 1.Person- Ram, Shyam, Radha ,Mira etc. 2. Things - Ramayan, Bible, Quran etc 3. Place - Washington, Dubai, Delhi, Hyderabad etc [2.] Common Noun - Words which give sense of the entire caste of a person, thing, place etc. are called common nouns. Example - 1. Person - children, women, men etc 2. Things - books , table, chair etc 3. City, town, village etc [3.] Abstract Nouns - Words that convey the sense of state or condition are called possessive nouns. Example - thinness, alienation, boyhood, beauty, old age etc. On the basis of English grammar, some scholars have recognized two types of nouns in Hindi as well, which are as follows - 4.समूहवाचक संज्ञा (samoohavaachak sangya.) collective nouns -The words that refer to a group of persons or things are called collective nouns.
